A beautiful book with lots of pictures tells the story of the picturesque Vihula manor located in Lääne-Virumaa, on the edge of the Lahemaa National Park, taking the reader on an exciting journey through centuries of stormy history to the present day. There is a longer story about the different owners of the manor, the renovation and its growth into a modern manor complex as we know the Vihula manor today. Between the chapters reflecting the history and development of the manor, the author tells cheerful stories and legends related to the manor.
The authors are the owners of Vihula Manor, Olita and Hans Henrik Kjølby, who have been active as tourism entrepreneurs since the beginning of the restoration of Estonian independence and whose main activity is bringing foreign tourists to Estonia and the Baltic countries. In 2008, they bought the Vihula manor and made it their mission to restore the manor to its former glory and make it available for public use.
